Being nice pays off in the long run

Aug 14 2008

People behave amazingly different in similar situations. What should you do when somebody is just rude to you? What should you do when it look like somebody is deliberately trying to abuse your emotions in public?

What to do when people write a blog post against you or your opinions? What to do when people hurt you through the comments section in your blog?

In my humble opinion, being nice is what you should do. Always.

It is through our response we show who we are. We are marketing ourselves in our every single interaction. We are putting our integrity and personality at stake whenever we interact with people. Being nice may not look like the best thing to do in certain situations. We may be tempted to respond back in the same harsh tone. Just calm down and show who you are. Show that you are really a friendly guy.

Being nice is after all nice. Isn’t it?

    I completely agree.

There is just way too much violence in this world to dwell on our own ‘little’ problems. People are in much worse situations than what we are. Sometimes we don’t step back to realize how good we actually have it.

Plus, everybody deserves to be treated with respect. “Treat people as you would want to be treated.”
